THE ADVENTURE
Having grown up around his father’s car business, Luis Fonsi has long held a fascination for all things automotive. Several decades later, he would see that same curiosity in his five-year-old son while they built elaborate race tracks across their living room floor. When introduced to some of the many talented people at Mattel, Luis Fonsi jumped at the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to design his own Hot Wheels™ die-cast and subsequently turn it to a life-size reality. Days into his creative process with the Hot Wheels design team, he had another revelation—many of the same elements they were using for the custom car build would make great leather racing jackets. From this idea, the unique apparel and accessories Luis Fonsi x Hot Wheels collection was born.
